Modesto-- Every year, more than 40 recruiters for various universities come together at Modesto Junior College to expose, persuade, and inform the youth about their college education.
On Sept. 7, College Night was beaming with parents who accompanied their high school children. They took advantage of the informational workshops related to financial aid and loans, while their kids went about getting information from the various universities representatives on site.
Héctor de La Hoya, 57, went with his son José de La Hoya -- a senior student at Ceres High School.
"I support my son in everything I can," Héctor said. "Out my three children, the youngest one invited me to come with him to this event and get informed about the necessary requirements (to get into college)."
