México's swine flu death toll climbs to 149

MÉXICO CITY -- The number of deaths attributed to México's outbreak of swine flu rose Monday to 149, the same day authorities acknowledged the malady had spread to all 31 of the country's states.

The latest death toll was announced at a midday press conference by Health Secretary José Ángel Córdova, who said that more than half of the 1,995 people admitted to hospitals with suspected swine flu have been treated and released, while 776 remain hospitalized.
