Latino stars shine at Premio Lo Nuestro

Last Thursday night, los Premios Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina celebrated its 21st edition with an array of Latino stars, including Aventura who took home four awards. They were the only ones who won that amount of awards.

The show opened with reggaetón duo Wisín and Yandel.

Comedian Eugenio Derbéz and Ninel Conde hosted the 3 hour show, which aired on Univisión.

Highlights of the show:

President Barack Obama prerecorded a special message thanking Latinos for going out to vote in the presidential elections. He even spoke some Spanish.

Alejandra Guzmán received a special recognition for her 20 year-career. Her mother Silvia Pinal presented her with the award.

Singer Emmanuel sung some of his greatest hits and later was awarded for his 30 years in the music business. His son singer Alexander Acha handed him the award.

Luis Fonsi, Noel Scharjis, David Bisbal and Aleks Syntek took the stage to sing 'Aquí Estoy Yo' (Here I Am).

Colombian singer Juanes won all three awards in the rock category.
