    La conferencia gratuita "El Jardín Silencioso" con el tema “Conversando en Familia” estuvo abierta al público y contó con recursos, servicios y un taller para las personas latinas sordas y con problemas de audición y sus familias. Más de 200 padres de familia de habla hispana en el Valle asistieron al evento. La conferencia que fue impartida en el idioma español es la primera en su tipo en el Valle Central. Irma Sánchez, fundadora de la organización sin fines de lucro con sede en Los Ángeles, Deaf Latinos (Latinos Sordos) fue la oradora del talle.
