More than 400 compositions.
13 studio albums.
409,025 Facebook users.
A career that spans more than 20 years.
These facts are insignificant for the common person, yet for singer Gloria Trevi these are more than just numbers.
"It's been 20 years of career. Of course, I started when I was 2 -- I am now of legal age!" said Trevi with her sense of humor, and she added, "I am now legal to drink!"
"For me, everything has gone by so fast and I feel like I still have so many things to give, to create, to do," said the 43-year-old Trevi over the phone.
The singer is currently celebrating her three nominations for Premio Lo Nuestro 2012 -- Pop Album of the Year, Pop Song of the Year, and Female Artist of the Year.
The award show is schedule for February and fans vote for their favorite artist.
"When I receive an award from them it's so beautiful, I know that they feel respected, proud, they feel like they made it -- because they are the ones who made it. It's like scoring a goal during the World Cup, it is a great feeling," she said.
Trevi spoke about her struggles, her success and her husband's 72-hour kidnapping ordeal in México a few months ago.
"I have only shared a few details about the kidnapping because I want to turn that page already. I was asked about my emotions, feelings and I shared that because I feel there are people who might listen and benefit from it. I think," she said.
Does she think México's violent situation will ever change?
"I feel México's situation has been exaggerated. It is grave, but it's grave all over the world. It's surprising for México because traditionally it's peaceful, familiar, loving, and a great host. I think that in order to change it, we must get rid of México's bad publicity," said the singer, who is originally from Nuevo León, México.
What are her plans for 2012?
"I am finalizing the 'Gloria' tour because the live album will be released with four new songs. I am excited, euphoric. Next year you will see it, so be ready because I will be autoerotic!" she said with a laugh.
