OV7's return a big success

Erika Zaba admits that she was nervous when she stepped on stage with her OV7 companians for the first time in seven years even though the music group had rehearsed for close to a year.

The public's response at México City's National Auditorium was very clear: Three sold-out shows in three nights.

"We didn't expect that," said Zaba during a recent telephone interview to promote the 'Tour OV7 Regresa.' "We were very happy with the public's response."

The road for the group -- originally La Onda Vaselina -- continues for a new generation of fans.

"The most important thing is that we return as we were before," said Zaba. "Now we are better because we are older, more mature. It has been very easy to work together again."

The group -- which also counts with Lidia Ávila, Mariana Ochoa, Ari Borovoy, M'Balia Marichal y Óscar Schwebel -- was lauched in 1989 with the first of 12 albums. The group had hits with 'Volveré,' 'Aum Aum,' and, 'Susanita Tiene un Ratón.' In its career, the group has sold more than 5 million records.
